Greenworks 25022 review
The Greenworks 25022 is well built electric lawn mower with a 20 inch cutting deck. The lime green deck is made of steel which allows for the shroud to be thinner than on lawn mowers with a plastic deck. My previous lawn mower was a B&D with a plastic deck and I ended up cracking the deck which was a shame since the mower wasn’t that old.
With my new Greenworks 25022 I can cut closer to object and I don’t have to come back with a trimmer as I did before. The 20” blade makes it also faster to mown the lawn compared to my old mower which had an 18” blade.
I bought the Greenworkds 25022 from Amazon since they had the best price. The best part of buying it from Amazon was that I got free shipping and got it delivered at my door within a couple of days. Check if you are eligible for free shipping as well.
Eco friendly electric motor
The Greenworks 25022 have a 12 amp electric motor that has plenty of power even in tall and wet grass. The reason I wanted an electric lawn mower were that I was sick and tired of tune-ups, spring maintenance and of course the hassle of getting gas all the time. The negative is that you need to drag an extension cord after you while mowing.
Works straight out of the box
The lawn mower came in a well-constructed box and all I had to do was to fold up the handlebar and attach the cord and I was ready to start cutting grass.
The top part of the handlebar is simply fastened by a big knob on each side. If you have limited space where you store you lawn mower you can conveniently flip down the top part between uses. The handle has a good padded grip that is very comfortable. The mower activates with the bar that runs along the hold bar and a 1-button safety. Since the bar runs along the whole handle you can easily use the mower with one hand.
The Greenworks 25022 has got 7” front wheels and 10” rear wheels which I think is the largest I have seen on a push lawn mower. The large wheels makes it easy to maneuver and the mower rides smoothly over all the humps and bumps on my lawn.
What I really liked about this Greenworks 25022 is how easy I can adjust the height. The lever is spring-loaded and it has 7 proper stops that it snaps into. Due to the spring it requires almost no effort to adjust the height and is done with one hand. You can adjust the height from 1 ½” to 3 ¾” which should fit all your needs.
The Greenworks 25022 allows you to use rear bagging, side discharge or mulching. I have only tested mulching and bagging so far.
I don’t use mulching that often, but the few times I have done the cuttings have been fine and evenly distributed. The grass cutting won’t pile up like they did with my old lawn mower.
The bag is installed easily and is narrow enough to fit between the handle bars. This allows you to pick the bag straight up and not pull it out all the way back. The lawn mower picks up every last bit of the cuttings. I am quite impressed with it actually. I am looking forward to see how it performs during the autumn when I want to pick up dead leaves.
- Easy to maneuver.
- Cuts tall and wet grass.
- Steel deck.
- Nothing specific.
